The short version
Our website and web app set two first-party cookies. One keeps you signed in. The other remembers an invite link. The web app also saves one small setting in your browser. We don't use advertising cookies, analytics cookies or tracking pixels.
Cookies we set
- ironos_session (essential). Keeps you signed in. Without it, the web app doesn't work. It lasts up to 7 days, or until you sign out. It's HttpOnly (scripts on the page can't read it), Secure (only sent over HTTPS) and SameSite=Lax (limits when other sites can make your browser send it).
- ironos_ref (functional). Set only when you open someone's IRONOS invite link. It remembers the invite code for 30 days so that, if you sign up, we can record who invited you and connect you as friends. It's HttpOnly, Secure and SameSite=Lax.
Browser storage
The web app saves one item in your browser's local storage, called ironos-hw. It remembers which health-data connections you've switched on, so the buttons show the right state. It stays until you clear your browser's site data.
Our hosting provider
IRONOS is hosted on Cloudflare. If Cloudflare needs to check that a visitor is a real browser and not a bot, it may set its own short-lived security cookie (such as __cf_bm or cf_clearance). These are used for security only.
Fonts
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts. When the fonts load, Google receives your IP address and browser details. We don't use Google for analytics or advertising.
What we don't use
- No advertising or analytics cookies.
- No tracking pixels or session recording.
- No third-party tracking across other sites or apps.
Our phone apps
The IRONOS iPhone and Android apps contain no advertising or analytics code. Our Privacy Policy explains what the apps keep on your phone.
Clearing cookies and storage
You can clear cookies and site data for our site in your browser settings.
- Clearing ironos_session signs you out.
- Clearing ironos_ref means an invite link you opened is forgotten.
- Clearing local storage resets the connection buttons in the web app.
